Located on the east coast of Vancouver Island, the City of Campbell River offers breathtaking views of the ocean set against a backdrop of snow-capped mountains.
The community is home to over 35,000 people and attracts thousands of visitors each year who come for the renowned fishing, skiing and natural beauty. To enhance business and tourism opportunities, the City of Campbell River started a bold process to rethink and revitalize its downtown core.
We were honored to document various phases of the process over the years, from community discussion forums to the actual construction activities and Live Streets events programming. We used high-resolution time-lapse cameras to record selected developments over the course of 7 months.
The videos were developed in close cooperation with city staff and successfully helped communicate the process. As a result, the Revitalization video won the prestigious International Videographer Award in the Local Government category.
